Lauren Alexa began in the spring of 2001 when I opened my brick and mortar shop selling custom and designer baby bedding, as well as gift items for young children.

My passion for beautiful fabric began when I was a little girl.  My mother was a very accomplished seamstress and I spent countless hours playing with my dolls along side her in her sewing room, rolling up fabric remnants for my dolls to purchase from my make believe store, just like my mother did when I went shopping with her.  In my later elementary and middle school years,  I would bicycle  over to the drapery workroom where my mother, aunt and grandmother all worked.  While there, I would roll up scraps from the fabric selvages into yarn-like balls so that my grandmother could take them home where she used them to crochet cotton rugs. 

Over the years my mother and I collaborated on numerous decorating projects, the most favorite of which was designing the rooms for my two daughters.  At that time, there was very little in the way of selection for nurseries, other than  cartoon themed, cheap, bedding sets.  It was from this experience, that my shop, Lauren Alexa was born.

I ultimately closed my brick and mortar store and decided to bring Lauren Alexa to the world via the internet.  While the way consumers choose to shop has changed significantly since the doors of Lauren Alexa first opened in March of 2001, my passion for creating beautiful crib bedding, along with exceptional customer service has not.  I look forward to assisting you in creating the crib bedding of your dreams!
